Perched high atop a cliff sits a massive bird of prey. It is a magnificent creature with golden brown wings and a bright yellow beak and talons. It is the master of its ecological domain and the apex predator. This is the White-tailed Sea-eagle, a dying breed of bird which is clinging to an increasingly tenuous string of existence in a rapidly changing and hostile world. In “White Tailed Sea-Eagle,” we document this species’ increasingly futile struggle for survival and learn about its relationship with its ecology. We explore why the most insignificant changes to the environment leaves this bird vulnerable and fragile despite its fearsome appearance.
