Toy Cop Character Gets a Modern Image Makeover

Two brave officers from Toy Cop animated series have long been recognized mascots of police guards in South Korea. The characters boast their official page on the Korean National Police Agency website. No wonder after all, as the funny little characters are loved and respected all over the country – not only among children, but also among adults.

Initially the Police came up with two uniform versions for their mascots – everyday and ceremonial style. Still, in 2020, the Agency have decided to make the female character’s look even more realistic.

The mascot girl has changed a uniform skirt for a gender-neutral pantsuit. According to the Korean authorities, it goes more in line with a modern image of female police officers. Besides, this solution should enable the society to shift away from gender stereotypes.

Toy Cop show has been produced jointly by the Korean Ocon studio and the National Police Agency. The plot teaches preschoolers to be compassionate and respect the rules while the real investigation methods softly integrated into each episode help children develop their analytical skills and logic.
