Lion, rhinoceros, leopard, elephant and buffalo: these are Africa’s Big Five. All five of them are among the world’s most threatened species. Caused by centuries of hunting by major landowners and colonial rulers. The Big Five were always considered to be the pinnacle of the hunt, the trophies as symbols of a true hunter. Today, they are under nature conservancy. As of the beginning to the middle of the last century, landowners recognised that the slaughter of the animals cannot go on any further. This insight resulted in reserves for the breeding of animals. We too went on the hunt: in the southwest of the Kruger National Park, where savannah and scrubland alike can be found. Armed with 3D cameras, we visited the Kings of the savannah and the jungle, where we sensed the fascination that emanates from the largest animals in the wild. This resulted in hitherto unseen images of wild animals. Witness the birth of an impala, the mating rituals of leopards, or curious lion cubs playing with the camera all of it c
